When Katie Piper fell victim to a horrifying acid attack in March 2008, her life took a dramatic turn. The inspirational author has had more than 40 operations as a result of the incident, with her latest taking place in November.

Shortly after her wedding to Richard Sutton last year, Katie underwent nose surgery and had tubes fitted in.

The 32-year-old has opened up about what she would say to her daughter Belle, who turns two this year, if she asks what happened to her.

"I'm sure as she starts to put more sentences together maybe she will ask things," said Katie Piper

"Yeah it's coming up," Katie said during an appearance on ITV's Lorraine, where she was speaking about the new series of Bodyshockers. "I can feel it because we were on holiday last week and she pulled my nose tubes out and threw them across the room, so she's noticing different things.

"I'm sure as she starts to put more sentences together maybe she will ask things. But that's fine, I'm just going to be the same with her as I am with everybody in my life and it's just part of me and who I am."

Last year the 32-year-old revealed that she struggles to conceive naturally

"I've got to keep the tubes in for two years," she added. "Do you know what? The choice is like, wear it and be able to breathe, or don't wear it and can't breathe!"

After a year-long engagement, Katie and her fiancé Richard, the father of her child, married on 6 November 2015. The bride looked magnificent in a Kolchagov Barba lace gown, which Katie described as "a dream come true".

"It was a small thing, close friends and family," said Katie of her wedding to Richard Sutton

"It was amazing and we postponed it so many times because I had all these problems with my throat," said Katie. "So in the end we were able to go through with it. It had been quite a difficult year health-wise so it was a nice way to end the year and it was a small thing, close friends and family."

On the prospect of having more children, Katie, who struggles to conceive naturally, added: "I don't know, I mean I think it's a blessing to have the one and I'm sure she would love a sibling – I'm one of three and I know it's so nice to have that relationship."
