Vin Diesel held back tears during his emotional speech
"I say I'm not going to get emotional about, you know, winning these awards, and I was cool when I was sitting in my seat, and then they handed me two awards. One for favourite action movie and one for favourite film," Vin said, adding that thinking about the movie always turned his mind to Paul.
After thanking fans for voting for the film, Vin concluded: "And I thank you so much and the only thing I can say now, 'It's been a long day without you my friend, and I'll tell you all about it when I see you again.'"
Vin sang See You Again in memory of Paul Walker
Vin previously sang the emotional track in memory of Paul at the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, and has regularly shared touching anecdotes and tributes to his friend. The pair were so close Vin even named his baby daughter Pauline after the late actor – and the 48-year-old later explained his decision in an interview with NBC's Today.
"There's no other person that I'm thinking about as I'm cutting this umbilical cord," he said. "I knew he was there and it felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my memory, a part of my world."
