Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan pay last respects at Nanny Pat's funeral

Mark Wright was supported by his wife Michelle Keegan at the funeral of his grandmother Nanny Pat on Friday. The TOWIE star passed away in December following a short illness, and was given a fitting send off as a white horse and carriage transported her coffin to the church for a private funeral service.

Friends and family including Carol and Jessica Wright, and fellow TOWIE stars were among the mourners at the funeral which was held in Essex.

The service comes just days after Mark shared a sweet tribute to his grandmother on Instagram, as he reflected on the highs and lows he had experienced in 2015. The TV presenter posted a photo of his grandmother from his wedding day in May, showing her planting a kiss on the cheek of his bride Michelle Keegan.

"Life is all about ups & downs. This year 1 special women vowed to be in my life forever and 1 special women left my life forever.." he wrote. "Be prepared for the best & worst moments. Just make sure in 2016 you take the best out of every moment and never take anyone or anything for granted."

Nanny Pat passed away in December

He continued: "Happy new year people. Lots of love and happiness to you all. Xx."

Mark was left devastated when his grandmother, whose real name was Patricia Brooker, passed away on 16 December. At the time the 28-year-old paid tribute to his late grandmother on Twitter, writing: "My heart is broken but so overwhelmed by your support. To know good ole Nanny was loved by so many is the best feeling in the world. Thank you."

His sister Jessica echoed his shock and sadness, writing: "Heart broken does not even come close to how my family & I are feeling. Thank you so much for your support my Nan was so loved an angel."

Mark is getting through his grief with the support of his wife Michelle, who also wrote about how she had been affected by the loss in her weekly blog for HELLO! Online.

"She will be so very missed by all those whose lives she touched," Michelle wrote. "She was a kind, funny and very lovely lady who will be sorely missed."
