Proving they’ve put the past behind them, Madonna stepped out on Saturday evening to support her ex-husband Sean Penn, at his charity event Help Haiti Home. The pair happily posed together on the black carpet alongside the 57-year-old's children Mercy James and David Banda. The popstar highlighted her svelte body in a sheer long black dress, and kept her make-up simple for the event. Inside the fundraiser, held at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, the Like A Virgin singer charmed the crowd when she took to the stage to perform an acoustic number, playing a ukele and singing in French.

Before her enchanting performance of La Vie en Rose Madonna took a moment to thank her ex-husband for the great work he is doing to rebuild Haiti. "Tonight is my night off, from touring. And I couldn’t think of a better place to be than here, supporting an amazing organisation, which, I had the privilege of going to Haiti with Sean two years ago, with my son Rocco and we had the most amazing adventure.""The way that [Sean] has changed Haiti in the last six and a half years is incredible. I am so proud of you, so proud to know you. So I wanna say Sean, that I love you, from the moment I laid eyes on you and I still love you just the same."

Concluding her speech the mother-of-four invited the crowd to sing along with her and subtly alluded to problems within her private life. "Please sing along, I’ve been known to forget the words occasionally, I have a lot on my mind," she said. Although she didn’t specify, this may be in reference to the on going legal battle she is having with her ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, for custody of their son Rocco.
