It was Eddie Redmayne's night to shine as the actor arrived at the Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday evening. All eyes were on the talented Brit, who will soon find out if he has won the Best Actor award for his role in The Danish Girl.

But Eddie, who has also received a BAFTA nomination, was more than willing to share the spotlight with his pregnant wife Hannah Bagshawe. The couple are expecting their first child in June, it was announced at the end of last year.

Walking the awards red carpet together as parents-to-be for the first time, Hannah and Eddie had plenty to smile about.

The publicist looked gorgeous in a black gown that drew attention to her growing bump with its empire waist. Mum-to-be Hannah certainly had that pregnancy glow about her as she supported her husband on his big night.

Eddie, who said it was a "treat" to be at the ceremony, looked dapper in a black tuxedo.

When asked by Ryan Seacrest if a baby was on the way, the actor confirmed that he and his wife are set to be parents. The couple were gifted with a sweet babygro before heading inside The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles for the 73rd Golden Globes.

Hannah and Eddie, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on 15 December, are said to be "extremely excited" at the prospect of welcoming a baby.

Last year, sources told The Sun that Hannah and Eddie had shared the happy news with close friends and family, and that the couple don't want to find out the sex of the baby.

If Eddie wins the Best Actor award this year, it will be the second time in a row that he has won the gong. The star was recognised in 2015 for his stellar performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.

Apart from the release of The Danish Girl this year, fans will also see Eddie in the highly anticipated film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – a spin-off of JK Rowling's successful Harry Potter series – which will be released in November.
