Following the tragic news of David Bowie's death, his ex-wife Angie Bowie has been informed by Celebrity Big Brother producers. The former model is currently starring in this year's CBB where outside communication is limited, so it was up to the TV show to delicately inform her of her ex-husband's passing on Monday.
Angie, who entered the Big Brother house on 5 January, was told of David's death off-screen. "Following the very sad news of David Bowie's death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives," the Big Brother UK account tweeted.

"Angie has taken the decision to continue in the programme. She has been given the option to leave at any time..," another tweet read.
The reality TV show went into further detail about Angie's decision to stay through the Channel 5 website. "The decision to remain in the House is entirely her choice, and she has been given the option to leave at any time if she changes her mind. Appropriate support will be available to Angie at any time if needed."

Angie was married to David, who passed away after an 18-month battle with cancer, for ten years and shared a son before the couple divorced in 1980. Their son Zowie, who changed his name to Duncan Jones, is estranged from his mother. The actress touched upon the sensitive matter on the TV show, saying: "I don’t see him at all, he doesn’t like me. But my daughter likes me.
"I guess David told him not to [talk to me]. It does seem odd." In a 2011 interview, Duncan told the Mail On Sunday's Live magazine: "We stopped communicating when I was 13 and it was the right choice then and I’m convinced it’s still the right choice now. She’s a woman who didn’t have a very positive effect on my upbringing so I think it was the right move."
When news broke of the 69-year-old's death, a heartbroken Duncan tweeted: "Very sorry and sad to say it's true. I'll be offline for a while. Love to all."
