Liam Payne says he would welcome Zayn Malik back to One Direction

Proving there’s no bad blood between them, Liam Payne has said that he would welcome his former band mate Zayn Malik, back to One Direction. The That’s What Makes You Beautiful singer made the comments as he arrived in Los Angeles, on Friday.As the 22-year-old was walking through LAX airport he answered questions about the status of the group. The tattooed star denied that the band had split for good saying: "Oh no no no, we just got nominated for two BRITs," referring to the BRIT music awards nominations they received on Thursday.

When questioned about the possibility of Zayn returning to the boyband he responded, "Who knows? He’s just doing his thing, he’s fine," adding that he would welcome the 23-year-old singer back with open arms. "Of course, I love Zayn, he’s great. "Liam’s comments come after Zayn revealed in an interview that he has no contact with his former band mates. Speaking about their strained relationship with L’uomo magazine he said: "I did try to reach out to a couple of people and they didn’t get back to me, but then publicly, when they were asked questions about it, sait that they’d spoken to me and that we were friends.

"But that’s not the case, I tried to reach out and be their friend but they haven’t even replied to any of my calls and texts," revealed Gigi Hadid’s new boyfriend.One Direction are currently on a hiatus and are not scheduled to perform for the next year, although they insist to their loyal fans and this is just a break and will return after they have enjoyed a well-earned rest.During their time off, the four members will explore different personal projects. Liam has been working on solo material and on Saturday pleased his fans by releasing a teaser video of a new song he wrote, on his Instagram page.
