It was a day to honour Britain's Armed Forces but Emily MacDonagh managed to share the spotlight at The Sun Military Awards on Friday. Joining her husband Peter Andre on the red carpet, Emily commanded all attention with her sensational look.

The junior doctor dressed her curves in a flattering midnight blue gown, which featured buttons down the front and a risqué thigh-high split. She let her hair tumble loosely over her shoulders and accessorised with a black clutch.

Placing an affectionate arm around his wife's waist, Peter, 42, looked dapper in a black tux.

The annual ceremony, which was created by Prince Charles in 2008, is an opportunity to recognise the incredible role of the country's Armed Forces. A host of celebrities attend to see the trophies, also known as the "Millies", handed out to the most deserving candidates.

Peter last attended the ceremony in 2011, and the event clearly made an impression on him. Speaking to The Sun on the red carpet, the singer admitted that he has been mentally preparing himself and his wife.

"I've prepared her to get the tissues ready because there are some incredible stories," said Peter

"It's such an honour to be here," said Peter. "I've been telling Emily about this for a long time. I've had the privilege of being here before and I've prepared her to get the tissues ready because there are some incredible stories.

"There are no words that can describe what [the Armed Forces] have done and there's never enough praise for them. And so something like this to recognise them is so important and we could say that there should be a lot more of it, but what we should focus on is today and that they are being recognised and that's important.
