Simon Cowell has been supporting his friend Cheryl Fernandez-Versini as she prepares to divorce her husband Jean-Bernard. The music mogul and the singer have known each other for more than a decade, and when they starred on The X Factor together last year, Simon stood by Cheryl.
The duo were in contact over Christmas when the Geordie beauty allegedly started divorce proceedings, and they have been texting ever since.
"I texted her the other night, but I haven't spoken to her," Simon told reporters at the Britain's Got Talent auditions. "But she seems on good form."

The head honcho was attending the London auditions for the popular talent show on Friday alongside fellow judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams, and presenters Ant and Dec.
Simon's mini-me son Eric, who turns two on Valentine's Day, was the subject of discussion. When asked if he would bring the adorable youngster to auditions, Simon said, "100 per cent. He loves this show actually," before adding that the little boy's talent was swimming.
It sounds like his second birthday will be a grand affair, as Simon, who is in a relationship with Lauren Silverman, added: "We've got a little party for him, which is getting bigger by the minute. But I'm looking forward to it."

His friend Cheryl, 32, seems to be picking herself back up and has been focusing her energy on her friends. Earlier this month she stepped out for Kimberley Walsh's hen do – a "wild" affair documented in the pages of HELLO! magazine.
Speaking about her bandmate, Cheryl said: "Kimberley is just the best friend you could wish for. I'm so excited for the wedding. It is a celebration of two people in love that we've all been a part of, and I am so excited to celebrate their love story. I always have fun when it comes to my girls."
