The Lebannon-born beauty was meeting with the Prime Minister to lobby him over the jailing of the former Maldives president Mohamed Nasheed.
Their discussions also included what sanctions should be taken against the exotic island and it's government, until her client is released.
This isn’t the first political leader that Amal has spoken to about Mohammed’s plight. On 14 January the lawyer was in Washington D.C. to speak about her client with members of the American congress. During her visit she also gave her first ever American TV interview.

During her chat with NBC, Amal was asked whether she felt she could use her newfound stardom to bring attention to larger issues, like humanitarian Angelina Jolie. "I think it is wonderful that celebrities use their time and energy and spotlight that they have to raise awareness about these causes," she told interviewer Cynthia McFadden, but disagreed with the movie star comparisons. "I don’t really see myself in the same way because I am still doing the same job that I used to do before. If there is more attention paid for whatever reason to that, then I think that is good. "Concluding the interview she said: "I think there is a certain responsibility that comes with that I think that I am exercising it in an appropriate manner by continuing to do this kind of work."
