Louis Smith and Lucy Mecklenburgh have split after 14 months

Louis and Lucy had been inseparable since confirming their relationship in 2014, and recently celebrated their one-year anniversary with a romantic recreation of their very first date.

The Olympic gymnast also whisked Lucy away on a trip to New York and Dubai in December, just a couple of weeks before they rung in the New Year on an exotic holiday in Thailand.

The couple had not been shy of sharing their affection for one another, and Louis gushed that Lucy was "a keeper" in an Instagram post just six weeks ago. Meanwhile Lucy said she loved Louis "to bits" in a Instagram post celebrating the New Year.

"It's our 1 year anniversary at midnight. Can't believe I've put up with him for a WHOLE YEAR..." Lucy wrote. "Jokes, love him to bits. Bring on 2016!!"

While neither Louis nor Lucy has addressed the split on social media, they haven't shared photos together for the last four weeks as they focus on their own careers.

Lucy put on a brave face when she stepped out for the BAFTA Rising Star Award party on Thursday night, and told fans she had "so much fun" when she shared Instagram snaps from her night out.
