The sad news of Teddy's death was announced on David Bowie's official Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon. "It is with sadness that we report the news that Teddy Antolin has passed away," a statement said. "Teddy was a former hairdresser for David on several tour, video shoots and photo sessions. He will be missed."

Teddy's death comes just four weeks after David passed away following a secret 18-month battle with cancer. The hairdresser spoke exclusively to the Sunday People after his friend passed away, and revealed how he had introduced David and Iman at his birthday party after having a feeling they would hit it off.

"The minute she [Iman] walked in all the attention went to her, she just claimed the room," Teddy explained. "She had a big smile and her and David looked at each other and it was love at first sight, you could feel the electricity, something went off."

He continued: "There was no one else in their lives but those two from then on."

Teddy remained friendly with the couple, and styled both David and Iman's hair on their wedding day in 1992.

It has been a challenging few weeks for Iman, as she comes to terms with the sad death of her beloved husband. The 60-year-old was spotted for the first time as she walked her dog in New York a week ago, and broke her silence at the weekend to post a touching message which appeared to be thanking fans for their support.

"Love & Gratitude" read the post, shared with her 365,000 followers. Comments immediately began pouring in from fans who continued to share their condolences with the supermodel, as well as heartfelt tributes to David.

Iman has since posted another message which said: "Pray hardest when it is hardest to pray," as she continues to grieve for her late husband.
