The image appears to have been taken at a funeral service for Greg, with what appears to be a church in the background, although further details are not known.

Vanessa's father passed away on 30 January after a battle with cancer. The actress announced the sad news on Twitter the following day, but vowed to continue with her role in Grease: Live that evening – and dedicated her impressive performance to her late father.

"I am so sad to say that last night my daddy, Greg passed away from stage 4 cancer," Vanessa tweeted. "Thank you to everyone who kept him in your prayers."

She continued: "Tonight, I do the show in his honor."

After wowing viewers with her flawless performance, Vanessa has since taken some time out to reflect on her loss and posted a heart-breaking quote on Instagram over the weekend, which read: "I wish heaven had visiting hours."

Vanessa revealed in August that her father was battling stage four cancer during a passionate speech at the 2015 Dance Awards, which were held to raise money for a charity that supports dancers who are cancer survivors.

"Last year, my boyfriend, Austin (Butler), lost his mum Lori to cancer, and my dad has just recently been diagnosed with stage four cancer," the actress shared. "Let me tell you, I hate cancer, I hate cancer with every cell of my being."

She added: "If you would have asked me two years ago what I thought of cancer, I would have said 'Man, you know it sucks. It's a horrible disease,' but that's only because I hadn't been faced with it personally.

"This award, it means a lot to me. But I dedicate it to my boyfriend's mum Lori, my dad, and to all the families out there who are struggling with this because it really takes a strong person and a strong family to be able to help those out who are going through this."
