Boy George has spoken out to defend Kris Jenner after she got a less than warm reception from the crowd at the iHeart80s Party in Los Angeles on Saturday night. The Kardashian matriarch was booed loudly by the crowd as she introduced Boy George's band Culture Club, and he has since said their response was "rude".
The Voice UK coach responded to a fan's joking message about the incident on Twitter, who suggested that Culture Club fans didn't like the Kardashian family.
Boy George has said it was rude of fans to boo Kris Jenner
"My fans should be gracious and kind," Boy George replied. "Booing, is just rude. I adore @krisjenner and I don't need anyone's approval."
Kris managed to remain poker-faced despite the fact she was practically inaudible throughout her brief appearance. At one point, the concert's DJ even took to the microphone to call for the audience to settle down.
"From the moment I heard about Boy George back in the 80s, I was completely obsessed, not only with his music but inspired by his fashion and style," said Kris, who was dressed in a menswear suit and black fedora.
As the crowd continued to jeer, she added: "I wanted the hat, the eyebrows, the red lips and the blush.
Kris continued with her speech despite the loud reception
"Meeting him last summer in France was exciting and the start of an awesome friendship, and he even celebrated my 60th birthday with me."
Many were surprised by the crowd's hostile reaction, including the organiser iHeartRadio who tweeted their surprise alongside a video of Kris' appearance: "Wow. Were you surprised at the reaction for @KrisJenner tonight at #iHeart80s?"

Kris herself has not commented on the incident, but shortly before her appearance took to Twitter to share her excitement. "Can't wait for @BoyGeorge," she wrote. "What a great night celebrating the 80s!!! #ifeelspecial #memories #theforum #bestvenue."
