Andy Murray made a return to competitive tennis on Friday, scoring a comfortable win over Japan's Taro Daniel in the Davis Cup. Andy, who was playing for the first time since becoming a father last month, said the reception on court was "amazing".
But despite the tennis champ's win, fans have been more curious about Andy's newborn baby daughter Sophia, who he shares with his wife Kim.
Andy told reporters that the family would accompany him to Florida later this month for the Miami Open; the Murrays own a house in the sunny state.
Andy Murray revealed that Kim and baby Sophia would accompany him to Florida for the Miami Open
"Babies are pretty portable at this age I think," said Andy. "She's going to come to Miami and see how that goes. We'll just play it by ear a little bit and see how well that works out. It's not really up to me. It's up to Kim as well, how much she would like to travel.
"Kim only really comes to maybe five tournaments during the year so maybe she'll come to two or three more, but I don't see us travelling as a family all the time because Kim doesn't love just being there to watch tennis all of the time either."
The question of whether baby Sophia will make an appearance courtside with her stylish mum remains unanswered, but fans will no doubt be hoping to catch a glimpse of the mother-daughter duo Stateside.
"I don't see us travelling as a family all the time because Kim doesn't love just being there to watch tennis," said the new dad
Andy, who said that his daughter has been "sleeping very well the first few weeks", also hinted that he and Kim wouldn't employ a nanny, contrary to what their friends and other tennis stars have advised.
"A lot of them have said: 'Get a nanny," said Andy. "But I think everyone has said it's one of those things that the more effort you put in, the more rewarding it is.
"You get so much back out of it, so give as much time as you can, enjoy every minute – because, even though at the beginning it can be challenging with sleep and whatnot, you'll miss it when it's not there. It's a nice stage to look back on, to enjoy every minute of being a parent. I've been trying to."
The couple are not thinking about hiring a nanny
When asked if his daughter was English or Scottish, Dunblane-born Andy managed to diplomatically reply: "I believe she's British."
The sportsman and his wife Kim, who is from East Sussex, welcomed their first child on 7 February. A statement via Andy's agent was released, announcing that "the family are doing well".
