Formula One racing star Fernando Alonso and his girlfriend Lara Alvarez have split, HELLO! Online's sister publication HOLA! can exclusively confirm. The pair were rumoured to have called time on their relationship over the weekend, when Lara was spotted not wearing a ring. he had given to her during their relationship.
The couple, who have been together for just over a year, are said to have mutually made the decision to break up.
Their conflicting work schedules, with Fernando dedicated to the race track and journalist Lara away travelling, meant that the couple often spent time apart.

While the pair have not made any reference to their split on social media, Fernando and Lara are due to face a long separation.
The 34-year-old racing driver is set to travel to Australia for the start of the Grand Prix season, while Lara is heading off to Honduras to film the new series of Supervivientes.
Despite her recent split, Lara seemed in high spirits as she headed to the gym on Monday with a female friend. Smiling and laughing with her companion, Lara gave a cheery wave to cameras as they snapped away.
The photos clearly showed Lara's missing accessory – her ring on her left hand.
