Casey Affleck and his wife Summer Phoenix have decided to call time on their ten-year marriage. The couple announced their separation on Wednesday, adding that they remain on good terms.
The actor's representative released a statement to People, saying: "Casey Affleck and Summer Phoenix have amicably separated. They remain very close friends."
The couple, who married in June 2006, have two sons together – Indiana, 11, and eight-year-old Atticus.

Casey, 40, and Summer, 37, were introduced by the model's older brother Joaquin Phoenix, who starred in the 1995 drama To Die For with Casey.
The two were just "flirty friends", Summer told The Telegraph. It wasn't until four years later that the pair started dating.
The news of Casey and Summer's split comes less than a year after Casey's older brother Ben Affleck separated from his wife Jennifer Garner. The pair were also married for ten years.

Speaking about the breakdown of his marriage on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, Ben, 43, said: "You know, we're good friends and we're doing our best. Our kids are fabulous, and we're working our best for them."
Reports had previously claimed that Ben and Jennifer's nanny Christine Ouzounian was a contributing factor to their split.

However, in a new interview with Vanity Fair, Jennifer confirmed: "We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. [Christine Ouzounian — the nanny] was not a part of the equation."
Moving forward with her life, the actress said that she has no ill feelings towards her ex. "People have pain—they do regrettable things, they feel shame, and shame equals pain. No one needs to hate him for me. I don't hate him. Certainly we don't have to beat the guy up. Don't worry — my eyes were wide open during the marriage. I'm taking good care of myself."
