Frances Bean Cobain files for divorce after 21 months of marriage

Frances Bean Cobain has filed for divorce from her husband Isaiah Silva. The 23-year-old daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love cited irreconcilable differences in official court documents. Frances has also stated that Isaiah should not be entitled to any money from her late father's estate, which is valued at $450million.The filing asks that all premarital assets, including Frances' inheritance, be awarded to her as separate property. However, she is said to be open to paying Isaiah – who fronts rock band The Eeries - spousal support.

Frances and Isaiah tied the knot on 28 June, 2014. Their marriage only came to light last year, and it was falsely reported that the couple had wed in a secret ceremony in September.The pair have been in a relationship for the past five years, but have stayed out of the spotlight; visual artist Frances has never publicly acknowledged the marriage.Frances recently reunited with her mother after years of estrangement – Courtney was famously not invited to the wedding.

On Tuesday, however, the duo were spotted making a rare appearance together in London, enjoying a day of shopping followed by tea at Claridges - proof that they have repaired their tumultuous relationship.

Frances, who was born in August 1992, is Courtney's only child from her marriage to Nirvana frontman Kurt. Kurt took his own life in April 1994, when his daughter was less than two-years-old. Kurt's mother and his sister were given temporary guardianship of Frances in her teenage years following her estrangement from Courtney.
