Tulisa Contostavlos charged with drink driving and dangerous driving

Tulisa Contostavlos has been charged with drink driving and dangerous driving following an incident outside Southgate Tube station last September. The former X Factor judge, 27, was allegedly driving her Ferrari around north London when she collided with an elderly couple's car at around midnight on 10th September. 

She had picked up the £199,000 car just a few days before the accident took place. The singer will appear in court on Monday to face the charges; if convicted of drunk driving, Tulisa could be banned from driving for up to a year, while dangerous driving carries an obligatory one-year ban. The star could also be ordered to take her driving test again.

Serious drunk driving offences, meanwhile, can carry a prison sentence of up to two years, while dangerous driving can lead to up to two years in jail. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed: "A woman has been charged with driving offences following a collision on September 10, 2015 outside Southgate Underground Station."

Tulisa Contostavlos, 27, of Enfield, was charged on Monday, March 7 with drunk driving and dangerous driving. She was bailed to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Monday, April 4. "The incident may well set back Tulisa's dreams of breaking into Hollywood. According to the Mirror, she was set to fly over to LA to see casting agents and producers over the coming months. 

An insider previously revealed: "Tulisa has shunned all reality TV offers as she wants her career to take a serious direction. She has always acted and has dreamed of being in films. This is set to be her big break. She has been low-key lately as she wants to rebrand herself." Her new agent, Mara Santino, added: "We are super-excited to represent Tulisa and introduce her talents to the American TV and film industry."
