Chris Hemsworth on his quick marriage to Elsa Pataky: 'It just felt right'

March 31, 2016

Chris Hemsworth has opened up about his wedding with Elsa Pataky, which came just months after they first met in 2010. The Huntsman: Winter's War actor, who has recently celebrated his fifth wedding anniversary with Elsa, said it "just felt right" to tie the knot during a Christmas holiday with their families.

Speaking during an appearance on ITV's Good Morning Britain on Thursday, Chris said: "It did happen quick and it just felt right, just, it made sense. There was no great plan to any of it to be honest, we were on holiday and we said 'why don't we get married too?' and then the next minute..."

Chris Hemsworth said his wedding to Elsa Pataky "just felt right"

He continued: "There probably should have been some planning but it all worked out. Honestly, we had both our families on holiday at the same time, just randomly, and we said this is a good opportunity with everyone together so we just did it."

CELEBRITIES WHO SAID 'I DO' IN SECRET

Chris and Elsa married shortly after Christmas in 2010 during a family holiday on the island of Sumba in Indonesia. They had only been dating for a few months after being introduced by talent agent William Ward in early 2010, and Chris has previously said that he and Elsa "just made sense" as a couple from the moment they first met.

Chris and Elsa have been married five years and have three children together

The couple have since welcomed three children together, daughter India, three, and two-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan, and Chris couldn't be happier in his role as a father.

"It's not about you anymore which is refreshing and my kids are hilarious and insane and crazy - it's good," Chris confessed. "You go from press tours and work and then straight back into reality and you're handed a child with a nappy."
