Little Mix fans were left disappointed on Thursday after the band were forced to cancel two concerts at the last minute. The Black Magic singers were due to perform a matinee and evening show at the SSE Arena in Belfast, but have been forced to postpone after Jesy Nelson became unwell.

The announcement was made shortly after doors had opened for the group's matinee performance, leaving many fans who had already arrived at the venue disappointed. However the #GetWellSoonJesy quickly started trending on Twitter, as fans wished the singer a speedy recovery.

Little Mix cancelled two of their live shows on Thursday

A statement posted on the official Little Mix Twitter account said: "Little Mix have unfortunately had to cancel both of their Arena shows in Belfast today. Sadly Jesy is unwell and unable to sing, and as a result both the matinee and evening shows are cancelled.

"Little Mix would like to apologise to their fans. Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets and await further news. LM HQ x."

It is not the first time Jesy has had to pull out of Little Mix shows due to illness. In November she was forced to pull out of the group's promotional tour in Japan after getting an ear infection and being advised not to travel.

"I am so gutted that I'm not gonna be able to come over and see you guys again," she tweeted at the time. "I love you all very much & I can't wait to see you again soon."

Jesy's illness is not the only ailment to affect the group in recent weeks; at the end of February her bandmate Perrie Edwards was left badly burned after her boiler blew up, leaving painful looking blisters on her hands.

So today I had an accident… and be accident I mean I accidentally set myself on fire," Perrie tweeted along with a photo of her injuries. "The pilot light on my boiler blew up and it set my arm/hand on fire. I'm in pain, full of blisters, there's not one hair left on her hand or arm, and it burned the sleeve of my favourite jumper… nightmare. A little advice from me… STAY AWAY FROM FIRE! #StaySafeKids."
