April 2, 2016

Robbie Williams has shared a photo of his The Two Ronnie's inspired tattoo after Ronnie Corbett passed away earlier this week. The 41-year-old also thanked the late comedian for inspiring him as a child.

The Angels singer, who had the trademark pair of glasses from The Two Ronnies tattooed on his neck back in February, shared the photo on Twitter and touchingly captioned the post: "Ronnie Corbett: You inspired me at a very young age. THANK YOU. You'll always be with me x."

Robbie revealed that he was "inspired" by Ronnie

Robbie originally shared a photo of his tattoo earlier this year and captioned the snap with the famous quote from Ronnie Corbett: "Four Candles anyone?"

Tributes have been pouring in from Ronnie's friends and fans following his passing. Close friend Sir Bruce Forsyth led the tributes, and told the BBC: "Ronnie was a friend, someone who I admired so much... I'm going to miss him like crazy, I really will."

He continued: "He was very adaptable, he could work with anybody. Even me. We always said a 'one-off', but he certainly was a one-off and a half. He really was."

Friends and fans have been writing tributes for Ronnie Corbett, who passed away aged 85

Fellow actor and comedian Ricky Gervais wrote: "RIP the lovely, funny legend Ronnie Corbett. It was an absolute honour & joy to have known him," while John Cleese wrote: "Just heard about Ronnie C. So sad. He had the best timing I've ever watched. He was a great, kind mentor and a wonderfully witty companion."

The beloved actor passed away at the age of 85 earlier this week. A statement read: "Ronnie Corbett CBE, one of the nation's best-loved entertainers, passed away this morning surrounded by his loving family. They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very sad time."

His wife Anne revealed he had been suffering from motor neurone disease for over a year before his death. She told the Daily Mail: "Ron wasn't just my husband, and the love of my love. He was also my best friend. Throughout his whole illness, he never grumbled or complained. No one could have been more courageous."
