John Travolta has confessed he isn't ready for his 16-year-old daughter Ella to start dating just yet. The Grease star was joined by the teenager and his wife Kelly Preston for an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and said he was "saving" his daughter when she was asked about her love life.
"No, no, no. I don't interfere with that," John said referring to Ella's relationship status. "And ya know, I'm saving her because she has two guys that she hangs out with. I don't ask anything about what they say or do with each other. I just respectfully..."

However his wife Kelly admitted she knew "everything" about her daughter's personal life, adding: "well mother's always do".
As the discussion continued, both Ella and her mother confirmed that she wasn't dating, prompting relief from protective dad John.
"Let's keep it that way," he said. "I never want my children to leave the house, ever."

John also discussed his role in crime series The People vs. O.J. Simpson, and said it took him several months to decide whether to take on the role of lawyer Robert Shapiro.
"I did ask very significant people prior to, which they'll remain nameless, and I don't know why I say that I just haven't had permission to ask their names, but I took two months to decide and then four months to solidify it," John explained.
"They even allowed me to be a producer to assure the quality of it, if I was worried about this being a guilty pleasure or something. So all that happened prior to it, but these four powers in the industry really encouraged me doing it to a very strong degree. And then I finally just said yes and I was so confident that we would do something that was bigger than the obvious."
