They're the rising stars of the film industry who shared the spotlight with Harrison Ford in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but Daisy Ridley and John Boyega can also add another string to their bow – rapping, it seems. The pair co-wrote a rap based on the sci-fi film in between takes on set.

"I've got a good eye for talent," John, 24, joked to Entertainment Tonight. "Daisy was just doing a little rap one day and I said, 'You know what, I can make you a big star.' So we decided to collaborate on a song together."

John Boyega told his co-star Daisy Ridley: "You know what, I can make you a big star"

While John beatboxes, his 23-year-old co-star Daisy, from Westminster, hilariously raps to the beat.

She raps: "We all up in the desert and we're filming Star Wars, because of our diet we can't eat no Mars bars. Because of the explosion JB crawling on the floor. Because of all the heat we could really make some smores – in the desert, woop, in the desert, woop woop, in the desert, woop, in the desert, woop woop."

After the pair collapse in giggles post-performance, John joked: "And that's what happens when you take too long in between takes."

The actor and actress, who played Finn and Rey in the new Star Wars movie, are currently working on the next film in the popular sci-fi franchise. Both will reprise their roles in Star Wars: Episode VIII next year.

Daisy recently had to turn down a fan who asked her to his college dance, by explaining that she was "locked in an intense staring competition with Luke Skywalker, somewhere in the middle of the galaxy".

The British actress is hot property right now. Following her breakout role in Star Wars, Daisy confirmed that she was in talks to play Lara Croft in a highly-anticipated Tomb Raider reboot.

"There have been discussions," she told The Hollywood Reporter. "I'm waiting for someone to say, 'I want you, let's do it.'"

One person who thinks Daisy would be a perfect fit for the role is her co-star John. "I texted Daisy and was like, 'This is you!' and 'You need to get on that because you could be Lara Croft.' She should be!" he said.
