They announced their shock split last month after 18 months of marriage, but Rebecca Adlington and Harry Needs remain "very much the best of friends". The Olympic swimmer opened up about the end of the couple's romance in a new interview with the Irish Mirror, and said that she and 24-year-old Harry remain committed to their nine-month-old daughter Summer."It's not like we're talking, because we are – we talk all the time," 27-year-old Rebecca said. "We are both just working hard on trying to be good parents, and our total focus is on our daughter.

"We are both so sporty so we take her swimming, and I would be very surprised if Summer doesn't grow up to be very sporty and active. "She's only nine months old but her personality is coming out – she's already so independent, and knows exactly what she wants to do… so she's a bit like me."

It read: "It's after much thought and sadness that we confirm our separation. It is on amicable terms and we still remain close friends. We move forward with respect for one another and our focus and commitment is on parenting our gorgeous daughter Summer. This will be our only comment on this private matter. Becky and Harry."
