Meadow Walker has been awarded $10.1million (£7.2million) from the estate of Roger Rodas, the driver in the fatal accident that killed him and Meadow's father Paul Walker. Her lawyer Jeffrey Milam released a statement regarding the settlement decision. "The amount paid by the estate of Roger Rodas into a trust for Meadow Walker only covers a fraction of what her father would have earned as an international movie star had his life not tragically been cut short."

Meadow Walker has received a $10.1million settlement

His statement continued, "Through his estate, Mr. Rodas, the driver of the car, took partial responsibility for the crash. Meadow's lawsuit against Porsche AG—a $13 billion corporation—intends to hold the company responsibly for producing a vehicle that was defective and caused Paul Walker's death."E! News reports that probate papers filed in November 2014 state that while Roger was "not directing the car through any particularly unsafe manoeuvres when it went out of control," he was "nevertheless… responsibly, in part, for the accident. "Mr Milan further explained that after expenses and attorneys' fees, Meadow will receive approximately $7.2 million from the settlement.

Paul and his friend Roger Rodas were killed in November 2013

The news comes just days after Roger's widow Kristine lost her legal battle against Porsche after a court judge dismissed the car manufacturer of all four allegations made in her lawsuit, including negligence, product liability and wrongful death. In spite of that, Meadow and her legal team confirmed that they will "continue to fight to hold Porsche accountable" in the 17-year-old's own lawsuit. "The issues in the cases are very different," Jeff Milam said in a statement. "Meadow's father, Paul Walker, was a passenger in the car. He survived the crash but was burned to death because of the vehicle's defects. "Roger and Paul were in a Porsche Carrera GT that ultimately crashed and exploded in Santa Clarita, California, on Nov. 20, 2013. The actor was in the passenger seat of the car at the time, and both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
