Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom attend the same gala – but avoid posing together

April 14, 2016

The relationship between Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom is continuing to go from strength to strength. Just one day after returning from a romantic break to Aspen together, the couple both attended the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy Launch in Los Angeles – although they disappointed fans by posing separately on the red carpet.

Katy glammed up for the occasion in a black leather and lace gown, paired with chandelier drop earrings and a smoky eye make-up. Meanwhile Orlando looked dapper in a tuxedo and bow tie.

Although the couple walked the red carpet separately, they are said to have made no secret of their relationship once inside the event.

"They were sitting next to each other," a source told People. "Bloom had his arm sweetly draped around Perry's chair as they chatted to Allison Williams. The pair seemed to be in a great mood."

Katy and Orlando were first linked in January after they enjoyed a flirty exchange at a Golden Globes after-party, and although they have not confirmed their relationship, they have been almost inseparable ever since. Orlando joined Katy for a romantic getaway in Hawaii, where she was performing a private show in February, and they travelled to England together later that month, where Katy was introduced to Orlando's friends and family.

The Roar singer is now said to be introducing Orlando as "her boyfriend" as they get increasingly serious about each other.

"Katy likes how down to earth Orlando is," an insider told E! News. "They seem to be getting serious and are an official couple. She calls him her boyfriend."

Both Orlando and Katy are no stranger to high-profile relationships. Katy was previously married to comedian Russell Brand and was in an on-off relationship with John Mayer since 2012. Meanwhile Orlando was married to Miranda Kerr until 2013, with whom he shares his son Flynn, five.
