Adele adds £35m to her personal fortune in a year and tops the Young Music Rich List

2015 belonged to Adele. Not only did the singer top charts and sell out concerts around the world with her third album 25, but she also added £35million to her personal fortune. The 27-year-old has topped The Sunday Times Young Music Rich List of performers aged 30 and under, after amassing a fortune of £85million.

The Hello singer is joined on the list by Ed Sheeran, who is worth £45million, and One Direction members Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, who are each worth £33million after earning £8million in 2015.

Adele earned £35m in the last 12 months

Zayn Malik, who left the band in March 2015, earned £5million which has seen his total worth rise to £30million.

Performers Sam Smith and Florence Welch are now worth £20m after earning some £8million in the last 12 months, while Ellie Goulding completes the list with a personal fortune of £17m.

Adele's incredibly successful year has also seen her rise to number 30 on the Music Millionaires top 50 list, where she is joined by legendary musicians such as Sir Paul McCartney, Andrew Lloyd Webber, U2 and Sir Elton John.

One Direction also feature on the Young Music Rich List

She is not the only British musician to see an incredible boost to their personal fortune in the last 12 months; DJ Calvin Harris has risen to number 27 on the rich list having amassed some £25m to reach a personal fortune of an incredible £95million.

New to the list are David Bowie's wife Iman Abdulmajid, son Duncan Jones and the rest of his family, who inherited the Ziggy Stardust performer's estate when he passed away in January. According to David's will, he had requested that half of his fortune go to his widow Iman, and the rest should be shared between his son Duncan and daughter Alexandria.
