Speaking to Vogue Italia, Kit chatted about why he loved shooting in Iceland, and how it led to his relationship with Rose. He said: "Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love.
"If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it's becomes very easy to fall in love."
The couple, who have been reportedly dating on and off since 2012, went public with their relationship at the 2016 Olivier Awards in London.
Kit has been at the centre of huge speculation over the last year after his character's fate was left uncertain at the end of last year's Game of Thrones season finale. The star recently revealed that Rose was one of the few people he was able to tell about the future of his character, but joked that he did use the surprise to get himself out of a speeding ticket.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on US chat The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Kit revealed that he had been speeding when a police offer pulled him over and said: "'You can either follow me back to the police station now where I’ll book you in, or you can tell me whether you live in the next [season] of Game of Thrones.'
He continued: "'I have to tell you, whether I take you into the police station depends on what your answer is.' I looked at him, and went, 'I'm alive next season.'"
"He goes, 'On your way Lord Commander. Keep the speed down this far south of the Wall.'"
