Susan Sarandon has taken to Facebook to thank fans for their support following the tragic news that her brother, Terry Tomalin, had passed away aged 55.
The Tampa Bay Times outdoors editor had been taking a life guarding test with his 14-year-old son when he suffered a heart attack on Thursday.
The Thelma and Louise star thanked well-wishers for their support, writing: "Thank you to everyone who reached out with love at the passing of my brother Terry Tomalin. I will pass on your prayers to his wife and family. This will give you a small idea of who he was." She then linked to her brother's obituary on Tampa Bay Times, which shared stories about Terry's life from his friends and family.
The late 55-year-old's wife Kanika Tomalin spoke to the site about her husband's passing, saying: "We are devastated. He loved us. He loved his family so much, and we loved him," while close friend Dave Mistretta spoke about Terry as a father, saying: "Terry became one of those dads that every kid really wants. He was devoted. That's what I saw shine in him. It was all about morals and being a good person. He wanted his kids to turn out right."

Susan's fans were quick to offer their sympathies to the actress, with one commenting on the Facebook post: "Sorry for your family's loss. After reading these brief stories about his life, he seemed to be quite a wonderful and caring human being...and a loss to the world as well. My heartfelt condolences," while another wrote: "My deepest condolences to you and your family for the loss of your brother Terry. We were co-workers at the Tampa Times. Terry was a terrific one of a kind man. May he rest in peace."
