With Justin Bieber and Rihanna confirmed as headliners for this year’s V Festival, expectations are high.
The event - staged at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park in Staffordshire – is taking place over the weekend of August 20 and 21 and will play host to the likes of Sia, Rita Ora and Little Mix.
Take a look back at the best moments from the two day cross–country music extravaganza over the years.
Beyoncé
Beyoncé took to the V Festival stage back in 2007 and certainly didn’t disappoint her legion of fans. With five costume changes, incredible dance moves and a host of hits, the Queen of Pop delivered one of the festival’s most memorable 70 minutes yet.
Justin Timberlake
All eyes were on Justin Timberlake as he headlined the festival in 2014. Having been in the spotlight for decades, it’s easy to forget just how many hit songs he has and his V Fest triumph was an excellent reminder that he’s a musical force to be reckoned with.
Nile Rogers
A week after revealing that he was cancer free, Nile Rogers memorably used the V Festival stage in 2014 as a platform to speak out about the wonder of life. His rousing speech coupled with Chic’s musical anthems made an unforgettable pairing.
Sam Smith
In 2015, Sam Smith delivered an outstanding set on the V Festival stage that lead to rumours that he’d be recording the next James Bond theme tune. How right those rumours were! Sam went on to win an Academy Award for his song Writing on the Wall.
Amy Winehouse
The singer gave a memorable performance in 2008, but was received with a mixture of cheers and boos when she arrived on stage 20 minutes late. However, she soon won over the audience with hits such as Valerie and Back to Black.
