"My body has had so much adrenaline pumping around it these past few weeks! Talk about life milestones!" said Catherine who told us it was one of the hardest things she has ever done. "It was such a bonding experience too. We all agreed it was the toughest physical challenge of our lives. I couldn't have asked for better people to share it with," she adds of #TeamVital, which included her Corrie co-stars and wedding guests, Tisha Merry and Katie McGlynn.

"The last 10k was the hardest part for me. I was mentally and physically exhausted. My trainer Matt Warner kept us all going - I couldn't have done it without him."

Sharing an exclusive video with HELLO! online of their 50k trek which raised funds for Parkinsons UK and the Josh Wilson Brain Tumour Charity, Catherine explains, "After reading Josh's story, our hearts were broken. This charity now lives on fiercely through his mother Dawn Fidler who is a complete inspiration and actually did the trek with us. Then when we heard about Muhammad Ali, it brought us even closer as a team. It was such a sad loss to the world, but at the same time, very symbolic. It reminded everyone exactly why we had signed up."

Tisha who plays Corrie's Steph Britton told HELLO!, "It's been tough but great! The inspiration came from wanting to raise money for to amazing charities and to challenge and push ourselves in the process. Without these guys I would have crumbled! How we support each other and work together is incredibly powerful." Katie, who plays Sinead Tinker, agreed, "I wanted to challenge myself and raise some money for charity but if we didn’t have our team pushing each other on and having a laugh it would have been a lot more difficult. "

Also taking part in the trek organised by Global Adventure Challenges across the highest peaks in the Beacons and South Wales was This Morning's Natalie Anderson with her husband James Shepherd who were raising funds for charity baby charity Bliss. The trek coincided with their wedding anniversary weekend as she told us, "We would normally have celebrated by going out to dinner or perhaps having a little trip away and so this year was very different. However in some ways it was probably the most romantic. I think the fact that we really had to look after each other both mentally and physically in order to complete the challenge was really quite poignant as that's what you try to do in a marriage. I was so grateful to have James with me and it was actually a really lovely thing to do as a couple."

At the summit of Pen Y Fan Natalie twisted her ankle so had to complete the final 25km in agony. "I was in a lot of pain and was crying but James held my hand and kept telling me I could do it. I'm really glad we did it together."

New bride Catherine had the support of new husband Tom, too, who was feeding her words of encouragement, while looking after their 14-month-old son Alfie. "Tom has been incredible - he keeps me mentally strong and balanced. He encourages me in my dreams and ambitions everyday."
