June 27, 2016

Paris Jackson led the tributes to her late father Michael Jackson on Saturday, in honour of the seventh anniversary of his passing. The 18-year-old took to Instagram to share a black and white collage of her beloved dad, which included two old images of Michael and Paris together. "7 years, rest in peace, my best friend in the entire universe," she began her caption. "…There's no one like you, and there never will be. Thank you for touching millions of hearts, but especially my own."

Michael's sister LaToya Jackson also publicly remembered the late pop icon, with a touching message on Twitter. "To the most loving, caring, goodhearted, talented person of all time. We love you #WeMissYouMJ & we always will! #RIPMJ."

Meanwhile, his nephew Taj Jackson – son of Tito Jackson – wrote: "7 years ago we lost one of our brightest lights and it has been a darker world ever since. #MJforever."

On Friday, Michael was honoured at the San Diego County Fair in California, with a special performance by The Jacksons. Brothers Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon all took to the stage to sing a few of their biggest hits, including One More Chance, and also performed Michael's hit Wanna Be Startin' Something in his memory.

Michael passed away 25 June, 2009 at the age of 50 at his home in LA, leaving behind three children.

The star marked her 18th birthday by getting a tattoo in honour of Michael

Back in April, Paris celebrated her landmark 18th birthday by getting a tattoo in honour of her father. "To everyone else he was the King of Pop. To me, well, he was the king of my heart," she captioned a photo of the new inking – 'Queen of My Heart' written in Michael's handwriting.

Just one month later, she got another tattoo depicting the cover artwork from Michael's 1991 album Dangerous. The teenager poignantly captioned the image with one of her father's famous quotes, writing: "The meaning of life is contained in every single expression of life. It is present in the infinity of forms and phenomena that exist in all of creation."

Paris herself then added: "Never forget your roots, and always be proud of where you came from."
