Shakira looked every inch the supportive girlfriend this week when she watched with gritted teeth as boyfriend Gerard Pique was knocked out of the European Championships. On Monday Spain crashed out of the competition after Italy enjoyed a 2-0 victory – and the singer was visibly upset.

The Hips Don't Lie hit maker was joined by their sons Milan, three, and one-year-old Sasha, her brother Tonino Mebarak and Gerard's parents Montserrat Bernabeu and Joan Pique. Pictures from the intense match show Shakira experiencing a host of emotions as she and the boys cheered Gerard on.

Even mummy duties didn't stop her from watching tentatively, as she juggled bottle-feeding little Sasha while keeping one eye on her man.  But at one point, while those around shouted towards the pitch, it all became too much for Shakira, who put her head in her hands.

Shakira could clearly feel her husband's pain as Spain bowed out of the Euros

While her boys made their dad proud in Spain's away kit, Shakira was a far cry from the uber-glamorous footballers' wives and girlfriends we're used to seeing. While still looking her usual stunning self, Shakira opted for a simple white vest and loose-fitting printed trousers. She wore her blonde hair tied back and was spotted touching up her make-up during half time.

Speaking previously about her love for football, Shakira – who has sold an estimated 75million records worldwide – confessed she loves being known as a WAG.

She and Gerard have been together since 2010

She told The Sun: "I never knew I would be so proud to be a WAG. But I am one of them – and very happy about it. I have an undeniable relationship with football. I feel part of it. I never thought I'd end up dating a footballer but it's great.

"I'm my own boss, I don't have a band and I don't have to report to anyone. I was also an only child. I've flown solo my whole life and he has taught me so much about being a team player."
