Louis Tomlinson wants to ensure he spends as much time as possible with his five-month-old son Freddie. The One Direction star, 24, has filed for joint custody of his little boy with ex-girlfriend Briana Jungwirth, TMZ reports.
Louis is said to want to play a more equal role in raising his son, having become frustrated that his time with Freddie has been "inconsistent" in recent weeks. He is now asking a judge to grant him 50/50 joint physical and legal custody.

Louis has spoken on a number of occasions about his love for little Freddie, and how fatherhood has changed him. The star relocated to the US to be near to his son, and also rents out a property for Briana and their child in Calabasas.
Just recently, Louis opened up about his experience of parenting in an interview with Capital FM, and admitted he was "still getting used to" being away from his firstborn. "I miss him, obviously, but it's cool. I do get Father's Day now," he said.

In celebration of that event, Louis shared a very sweet photo of him holding Freddie's little hand with his fans. "Happy Father's Day to every lucky lad out there who's someone's daddy!" he wrote. "Thoroughly enjoyed my first. Love you Freddie son X."
Louis and stylist Briana dated for a short time last year, and news of her pregnancy was announced in May 2015. Freddie Reign Tomlinson was born on 21 January, and one week later Louis shared the first photo of his little boy. "Meet my little lad Freddie," he captioned the sweet black-and-white photograph, which shows him shirtless cradling the newborn baby.
