Joe Ledley postpones wedding following Wales' surprise march to Euro 2016 semi-finals

Wales midfielder Joe Ledley has been forced to postpone his weddingdue to his team's success in the Euro 2016 tournament. The 29-year-old changedthe date of his nuptials to fiancée Ruby May Ridgeway after the team reachedthe semi-finals of the tournament in France.

The couple were due to tie the knot on Saturday 9 July, but shouldWales win their semi-final clash against Portugal, they would be due to play inthe Euro finals on Sunday night.

"He's obviously booked it a long time ago, beforequalifying," Joe's teammate Gareth Bale told reporters about the wedding. "These things do happen to pop up. The boys are fully focused on the taskin hand and I'm sure they'll re-organise stuff."

Joe and Ruby, who have two young daughters together, willnow reschedule their big day for after the tournament.

Despite the late changes to their special day, Ruby doesn'tseem to be too disheartened. The mum-of-two has been showing her support to Joeand his teammates on Twitter, and appeared to be overjoyed when they made itthrough to the quarter-finals.

Wales have defied expectations to reach the Euro 2016quarter finals

"OUTSTANDING from every single player, this is adream!!" she tweeted after the team beat Belgium.

The following day she added: "Can't quite believe whathappened last night. I think I'm still in a state of shock!"

Joe is not the only Wales player forced to change someimportant plans following the team's incredible success in the tournament; histeammate Chris Gunter will miss his brother's wedding at the end of the weekand will fulfil his best man duties over Skype.
