Not everyone is convinced that Taylor Swift's new romance with Tom Hiddleston is the real deal – including Phillip Schofield. The This Morning presenter shared his thoughts on Taylor and Tom's very public relationship on Wednesday, and revealed he had insider knowledge about the high-profile couple.
Phillip and co-host Holly Willoughby were discussing Taylor and Tom's whirlwind romance with showbiz presenter Rylan Clark-Neale, and spoke about the recent photographs published of Tom wearing an 'I heart T.S' tank top and a matching temporary tattoo over the 4th July holiday.
Phillip Schofield has said he thinks Taylor and Tom's romance is a stunt
Rylan said he agreed with increasing fan speculation that the relationship is all for an elaborate music video production, telling Holly and Phillip: "For me personally, I do believe the video. There is some kind of set-up going on."
Phillip then seemed to add credence to the rumours. "I was talking to someone yesterday that knows him very well," he revealed. "And he would not do that, the T-shirt…"
"It's staged," Rylan agreed, before Phillip added: "She's leading everyone on."
The couple's whirlwind relationship has been questioned by some fans
Taylor and Tom only went public with their romance last month, a few weeks after her split from Calvin Harris. In that time, they have been spotted in Rome, Nashville, Ipswich and most recently Australia, have met each other's parents and spent the Fourth of July weekend together.
The relationship has been questioned by some onlookers as a PR stunt, or an elaborate piece of performance art for a new music single. But sources close to Taylor have said she is head over heels in love.
"She loves the fact that Tom acts like such a mature man. She loves that he is older. She feels very safe and protected with him," an insider told E! News. "The attraction is very strong.... Taylor said she thinks he is 'The One', as odd and new as it sounds."
