Cathriona tragically took her own life in September 2015. Shortly after her passing, Jim paid tribute to the 30-year-old. "I am shocked and saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona," he said. "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled.

Jim acted as a pallbearer at Cathriona's funeral
According to reports, Jim and makeup artist Cathriona first met in 2012 and dated on-and-off for the next three years. The star was clearly devastated by the loss of his former girlfriend.
Jim helped carry Cathriona to her final resting place. He acted as a pallbearer at her funeral, which took place in October in her hometown of Cappawhite, County Tiperrary. A family friend of Cathriona's told People: "It was nice that he carried her coffin", adding that Jim looked "terribly upset" during the funeral.
Following the service, Jim tweeted an image of the pair in silhouette, writing "Love cannot be lost" alongside a symbol of a rose.
