The Spice Girls have revealed they are reuniting as a trio in honour of the band's 20th anniversary. Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton uploaded a video announcing the exciting news, and thanking fans for their continued support.
With Victoria Beckham and Mel C opting out of the reunion, the remaining members also seem to have renamed the band. They captioned the clip, 'GEM' – an acronym of their first names.

Mel B opens the video, saying to the camera: "We have been thinking. We have the best fans in the whole entire world."
Geri then appears on the screen, and says: "You've stood by us for 20 years and we want to say a big thank you." Emma, who was known as Baby Spice, adds with a smile: "We've had our ups and downs but you've always been there."
The trio then reveal that they are holding a "party" and that all of their fans are invited – their biggest hint yet that they will perform a rumoured concert at London's Hyde Park next July.

A source told the Mirror: "Mel B, Emma and Geri agreed Hyde Park would be the ultimate way to launch a reunion next July for their 21st anniversary. It gives them a year to plan everything and make sure their comeback is spectacular. It would be the most-talked about gig of the year."
The concert would mark the group's first outing since their one-off appearance at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.

Fans are still hoping that Mel C and Victoria can be persuaded to join the reunion. Mel could be available to take part, provided plans work around her new solo album. Speaking recently to the Sun, she said: "I'm keeping tight-lipped. There are lots of discussions going on. Right now, I am in the studio working on my own album and that's my focus. I'm taking it slowly."
It seem unlikely that Victoria will change her mind, although a source has said she will consider it for the sake of her four-year-old daughter.
"Victoria likes the idea of Harper seeing her just once as a Spice Girl because she wasn't born for the reunion in 2008. It's a long shot, but there's a chance she would join in at the London date."
