The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, has a very famous family connection, it has been revealed. One US comedian has claimed to be related to Prince William's wife – but they still haven't had a happy reunion.
Ellen DeGeneres recently had someone draw her family tree and reportedly discovered Kate is her "14th cousin twice removed". But the 58-year-old Finding Dory star has been left in the dark, after she confessed during an interview on ITV's Lorraine that the Duchess "refuses to acknowledge" it.
Ellen DeGeneres claims to be a distant relation of Kate
Talk show host Ellen added: "I'm related to Madonna and Halle Berry, and both of them embrace it, why wouldn't Katie?"
She's currently in the UK to promote the long-awaited sequel to Finding Nemo, and Ellen admitted that the animated character "saved her" during a career low.
She and wife Portia were recently at Wimbledon at the same time as Kate
Speaking at a London press conference for the film, Ellen explained: "Well I had no job offers at the time. I hadn't worked in three years. I was thrilled that I had been offered anything. I was about to start working at the Olive Garden! I couldn't believe I was being offered anything, much less a part in a Pixar film, so it was amazing."
Ellen, who voices the amnesiac regal blue tang in both movies, also spoke about what Dory had taught her, continuing: "Family is not about mother and father, it's not about blood relations; it's about who makes you feel good, who gets you and supports you for all that you are. To me, that's what family and home is; it's wherever you are supported."
