Chris Hemsworth took to Instagram on Monday in celebration of his wife Elsa Pataky's 40th birthday. The Thor star shared a black-and-white snapshot with fans showing his wife blowing out the candles on her cake – with a little help from her husband – and wrote a touching message to accompany it.
"Happy birthday to the world's best wife, greatest mum and all round stunning human!!" Chris, 32, wrote. "Love you loads and thanks for letting me help blow out the candles."

A few hours later, Elsa shared an Instagram post to thank fans for their messages, and shared a fun photo showing her jumping in the air as she and Chris board a private plane together. "Best birthday ever, thanks for all the birthday wishes," she wrote. "Not sure if @chrishemsworth is attempting to catch me or push me out of the plane here but fun either way!!!"
Chris and Elsa have been married since 2010, and are parents to three children; four-year-old daughter India Rose and two-year-old twin boys Tristan and Sasha.

The couple are clearly head over heels in love. Speaking to TV Week in May of this year, Chris very sweetly said of his wife: "Each week I find something different, more I love about her. It continues to grow, which is a great thing."
The handsome star also spoke about the couple's whirlwind romance; Chris and Elsa married during a family holiday in Indonesia just a few months after they were first introduced by talent agent William Ward. "It just made sense to both of us," he explained. "There was an ease to it neither of us had had before."
