'My heart can't take it – the pain is too great': Jennifer Aniston cries while discussing past heartbreak

July 25, 2016

Her love life has always been a regular staple in the media, and Jennifer Aniston has opened up about a time when she thought she'd reached her limit. The Friends star's most public break-up came in 2005, when she and ex-husband Brad Pitt shocked the world with their plans to divorce.

Last year Jennifer, 47, remarried and found her happily ever after with Justin Theroux, and Brad swiftly moved on to Angelina Jolie. Although clearly much happier these days, Jennifer was caught off guard during a speech at the Giffoni Film Festival.

When a fan asked if she'd ever woken up wondering who she was, Jennifer dissolved into tears. She responded: "There are not enough fingers and toes in this entire room to count how many times that moment has happened to me."

Jennifer continued: "We're all human beings at the end of the day, whether we're a waitress or a baker or a student or whatever we are, at the end of the day you kind of can hit walls and think I can't go any farther. Or this is too much, my heart can't take it, or the pain is too great, or am I good enough? Will I survive?

"And you just have to sort of somehow miraculously overcome. You just go, 'I can't, yes I can, yes you can'."

Although Brad and Angelina went public with their romance within a year of his marriage split, Jennifer dated Hollywood actor Vince Vaughn and musician John Mayer before finding happiness once again with Justin.
