After dating him on and off for nearly four years it looks like Selena Gomez isn't afraid to offer advice to Justin Bieber. The singer issued a strongly worded response to Justin's latest complaint against his passionate fans – telling the Sorry hit maker to simply be more grateful.
Justin, 22, took to Instagram on Sunday to ask the Beliebers to stop attacking his rumoured girlfriend Sofia Richie on social media, and threatened to turn his profiles private if the abuse continued.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez clashed following his warning to fans
But 24-year-old Selena was quick to call him out, commenting: "If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only. Don't be mad at your fans. They love you and supported you before any one ever did."
Clearly feeling put out by their idol's threat, many of Justin's followers thanked Selena for her support. But it wasn't long before he had a response for Selena's lesson in kindness.
"It's funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way," he quipped. "Sad. All love. I'm not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u can all be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my beliebers."
The pair dated on and off between 2011 and 2015
Selena then quickly commented back and soon after the hashtag #SelenaEndedJustinParty began trending on Twitter.
She wrote: "Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger that the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love."
