Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have ended their acrimonious divorce battle with a $7million divorce settlement. The 30-year-old actress filed legal documents on Tuesday stating her intent to finalise the divorce, and also withdrawing her request for a domestic violence restraining order against Johnny.
Both parties then released a joint statement, drawing a line under what has been one of the most explosive splits in recent Hollywood memory. "Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love," it read. "There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains."

It concluded by saying that "Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future", adding that she would be "donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity", without specifying the charity or the percentage.
Up until Tuesday, Johnny and Amber seemed to be heading towards a highly-charged trial, with both sides making accusations against each other as photos and videos surfaced of their alleged fights.
Amber filed for divorce back in May, and just a few days later requested a temporary restraining order claiming that Johnny had been verbally and physically abusive towards her throughout their 15-month marriage. The Hollywood star has always denied the allegations.

A hearing regarding the restraining order was originally scheduled for 16 June, but Amber was granted a continuance and it was postponed until 17 August; the former couple reached their divorce settlement just one day before it was due to go ahead.
Johnny - who is worth an estimated $48million - and Amber first met in 2009, while filming The Rum Diaries, but did not become a couple until 2012 when he split from his partner of 14 years, French actress Vanessa Paradis. She was among those who came to Johnny's defence when Amber's allegations of domestic violence were first made public.

"In all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years," she said.
"He is a sensitive, loving and loved person, and I believe with all my heart, that these recent allegations being made are outrageous."
