David Beckham is encouraging Victoria to take part in the Spice Girls reunion

August 24, 2016

Victoria Beckham may have no plans to take part in a Spice Girls reunion, but according to her former bandmate Emma Bunton, there may still be hope. Victoria's husband David has been encouraging his wife to join the other Girls for their planned anniversary concert next summer.

"For a long time she has wished us the best," Emma confessed during an appearance on This Morning.

"I was talking to her at David's birthday party and he said, 'You've got to do something.' Maybe she will change her mind, she does that, who knows."

Emma Bunton teased that there may still be hope

Last month it was reported that Emma, Mel B and Geri Horner, née Halliwell, would be reuniting for a Spice Girls concert next summer to celebrate the band's 21st anniversary in London's Hyde Park. However Victoria and Mel C are not scheduled to take part.

Posh Spice may be persuaded to change her mind, as she did ahead of the London 2012 Olympics and the band's 2008 reunion tour.

A source has also told The Sun that the mum-of-four would consider it for the sake of her five-year-old daughter Harper.

"Victoria likes the idea of Harper seeing her just once as a Spice Girl because she wasn't born for the reunion in 2008. It's a long shot, but there's a chance she would join in at the London date," they said.

Meanwhile Mel C said she is focusing on her solo music career. "I'm keeping tight-lipped," she said of a possible reunion. "There are lots of discussions going on. Right now, I am in the studio working on my own album and that's my focus. I'm taking it slowly."

Emma, Mel B and Geri are rumoured to be performing a concert next summer

Geri, Emma and Mel B are set to make their comeback next July. The trio posted a clip online and captioned it 'GEM' – an acronym of their first names.

They revealed that they will be holding a "party" as a way of thanking their fans for standing by them for the past 20 years. The "party" is their biggest hint that the trio will perform a rumoured concert next summer.
