David Beckham has given a sweet shout out to his second eldest son Romeo, who turned 14 on Thursday. The retired footballer shared a photo on Instagram, joking that the handsome teen would "break many hearts" in years to come.
"To my beautiful boy who turns 14 years old today..." he wrote. "A special little man with a beautiful heart and a smile that is going to break many hearts in years to come happy birthday superstar love Daddy."
The picture showed the father-son duo smiling as the sun set behind them, and was probably taken during the family's recent summer holiday in Los Angeles. David, 41, sported a fresh tan while Romeo showed off his new haircut.
"A special little man with a beautiful heart," David wrote of his son Romeo
The sweet picture gained a stamp of approval from David's fans and was 'liked' more than 60,000 times in less than five minutes.
Romeo is the second child of David and his wife Victoria. The Beckhams also share a 17-year-old son Brooklyn, an 11-year-old son Cruz and an adorable little girl Harper, who turned five in July.
The family have been spending the summer in LA
The family were spotted leaving Los Angeles earlier this week, having spent the summer in the Stateside city they used to call home, when David played for LA Galaxy.
Brooklyn looked noticeably glum at the airport, and understandably. It has since been reported that he and his American girlfriend, actress Chloe Moretz, split "in the past few weeks".
The news came as a big surprise to fans after the couple spent much of the summer together, looking very much in love as they attended premieres and other high-profile events. They would also proudly showcase their romance on social media.
The Beckhams have moved into their new home in Holland Park
Nevertheless, Brooklyn will be concentrating on the start of the school year. The family are also moving into their new dream home.
Ever since they moved to the UK, David and Victoria and their children have been living in a rented property in Holland Park – but last month movers started to relocate furniture and other possessions into their newly-renovated townhouse just across the street.
