Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has revealed that he hasn't had a permanent residence for the past five month since a burst pipe caused a flood in his lavish seven bedroom mansion in Hampshire and the fact that he rents our his London residence to Strictly dancers Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara.
He told The Sun about the flood, explaining:"There was a huge flood. Internal pipes from the underfloor heating burst and the water damaged the entire kitchen, conservatory, utility room and cellar.
Craig revealed he wouldn't be able to move back to his home until Christmas
"Everything had to be gutted. I had just put in a new kitchen and all of that had to go. The whole lot had to go so it will be all brand new."
The Australian-British dancer revealed that he had been staying in a Holiday Inn since the damage was done to his £1million home, saying: "I haven't been home for five months and there wasn't really room for me at the London house, which I've been renting out for a year. As a result, I'm living in a Holiday Inn. The penthouse suite, naturally."
The judge reassured that everything should be fixed for Christmas, saying: "They will finish the kitchen and there will be running water in the toilets by the end of September, the bedrooms need reflooring, the utility room and kitchen won't be done for another two months."
Craig joked that Camilla should be a Strictly judge
The star has opened up about this season of Strictly, and revealed that he thought Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall would be the perfect replacement for Len Goodman, who plans to leave the show after 2016. Craig joked: ""I don't want the responsibility of all that nastiness at the end. I would like it to go to somebody else. Perhaps somebody unknown."
"Actually, my best friend Camilla would be great. She's a fantastic dancer. She moves with such grace and authority."
