WATCH: Céline Dion delivers emotional performance for Stand Up to Cancer

Céline Dion was filled with emotion while performing for the Stand Up to Cancer telethon on Friday. The singer performed to pay tribute to her husband, René Angélil, and brother Daniel, who both died after battling cancer just two days apart in January.

After being introduced by Tom Hanks, Céline spoke about her family members who passed away from the illness, revealing that she misses her husband every day. She said: "I miss René every day, and the loss will now be a part of my life. I also lost my father and my brother Daniel to cancer.

Celine performed for Stand Up to Cancer

She then spoke about the song she planned to perform, Recovery, explaining that Pink reached out to her to offer her the song. She said: "A few months ago during my most difficult time of grieving, I received an unexpected gift from an amazing artist that I have always admired, Pink.

"She offered me a song that expresses power to stand up and stay strong. This most wonderful song is called Recovery."

Following her emotional performance, the star turned to the screen which showed pictures of her late husband, father and brother, blowing a kiss in tribute to them.

The My Heart Will Go On singer spoke to E! about how her eldest son, Rene-Charles is doing since his father's passing, saying: "For a 15-year-old boy to lose his dad it's hard, it's really hard but he's doing well in school and I feel like we have a stronger bond." 

She previously spoken about how she told her five-year-old twin sons Nelson and Eddy that their father had passed away. She told ABC News: "Before I told them that their dad was not there ... I said, 'Do you remember the movie Up?'" They said, 'Yes, Ellie went up. You know with the balloons.' And I said, 'You know, today Papa went up.'"

She then took them outside to release balloons, and revealed she was "most proud" of how she handled telling them the sad news. She said: "I did not want to relate the passing to doctors and have them be afraid."

Pink also opened up about giving Celine the emotional song, telling EW: "Céline possesses one of the most incredible voices that I have ever heard. She is like a magic light bulb, walking around emanating light into the world.

"When I wrote this song, there was such a simple need to it. I know everyone wants to hear Céline wail, I wanted to hear Céline's soul. She is just simply amazing, and getting to write a song for her is one of the biggest honours of my life."
