Mel Gibson to become father for the ninth time with partner Rosalind Ross

Mel Gibson is set to become a father for the ninth time! The 60-year-old and his equestrian girlfriend Rosalind Ross are expecting their first child together, sources have revealed.

According to People magazine, the pair are "excited" by the news, with a friend close to the couple revealing: "Mel and Rose are so excited about the baby. Mel loves being a dad and he and Rose can't wait to be parents together. The last two years have been some of his happiest years he’s ever had."

Mel and Rosalind are expecting their first child together

The Oscar-winning actor and director has seven children from his marriage to first wife Robyn Moore; daughter Hannah, and sons Edward, Christian, William, Louis, Milo and Thomas who were born before the couple separated back in 2006. He also shares seven-year-old daughter Lucia with pianist Oksana Grigorieva after a year-long relationship.

Mel has been dating 26-year-old Rosalind since July 2015, and the pair allegedly grew closer after a trip to the Braveheart actor's 500-acre Costa Rica ranch. A source told Radar Online: "They started their romantic getaway in Costa Rica, hiding out in Playa Barrigona, where he owns a 500-acre tropical sanctuary in the middle of the jungle, before heading to Panama. It's clear the two of them are really happy together."

The couple have been dating since 2015

Mel has previously opened up about fatherhood. Speaking to Mario Lopez, he praised his second daughter, saying: "She's so cool. It's amazing. It's full of wonder… and I'm not a youngster any more. It's my second daughter. I'm getting a chance to do it better.

Speaking about the key to being a good dad, he said: "Listen to them. I mean they actually tell me what to do."
