Cheryl has been photographed for the first time since those pregnancy rumours surfaced. The 33-year-old star has been keeping a very low profile in recent months, only taking to social media to share campaign pictures for her promotional work. But, on Thursday night, Twitter went into meltdown when her PR team shared a snapshot of Cheryl posing for a selfie.

The picture shows Cheryl, wearing a loose grey top, sat down in a large hall as she poses for the camera. "SNAPPED @cherylofficial taking a selfie in between takes on set," the accompanying caption read.

It inevitably led to a huge amount of speculation as to what Cheryl could be working on. "@supersonicpr @CherylOfficial On Set for what? Tell us more!" one fan pleaded, with another excitedly tweeting: "CHERYL IS ON SET!!!!"

The former X Factor judge hasn't been pictured in public since back in June, when she accompanied boyfriend Liam Payne to his sister's wedding. Earlier this month, she appeared in a new L'Oreal advert, where fans were quick to comment on her "radiant" complexion.

Cheryl and Liam started dating earlier this year, and are clearly head over heels in love. On Wednesday, Liam posted a very sweet message for Cheryl on Instagram to tell her how much he was missing her during his time away in LA.

Along with a snapshot of the pair wearing matching mud face masks, the 23-year-old One Direction star wrote: "I miss you!... the things you make me do. Home soon!" followed by a series of smiley face emojis. The post proved incredibly popular with the couple's fans; in just four hours it had racked up a whopping 460,000 likes.

Just last week, Liam sent social media into a spin when he changed his Twitter bio to claim he is the "happiest man in the world" – seen by fans as another indicator that the couple are expecting.
